DPS Scale Factors

#1 Post by TroyBlade » Tue Oct 27, 2009 8:10 pm

If you can't be bothered to set up SimulationCraft to find out the exact stat weight points for YOU, then let me know and I can run them for you. I don't know how good SimulationCraft is for all classes, I only know that warlocks are very simulationable, or whatever the word is I should be using there.

Note that the values are dps gain by 1 point gain of each stat except for Hit, which is DPS loss by 1 point loss of stat.

I suppose I could actually post the entire result page, if people want it.

Molten Armour gives me 35% of my spirit as crit, my 2PT9 gives me a further 15% so that's 50%, I have a talent that boosts my spirit by 10% so that gives me 55% of my spirit as crit.

So how can it possibly give the same dps gain as pure crit?

The int figure is surely wrong too.

You'll also get 1.1 Spirit per point of Spirit from Kings.

But I don't know the answer to your question, I'm just the messenger.

Do you also get some percentage of your natural mana regen whilst in combat from a talent?

Edit: I'd guess you must do since your report says you gain 8700 mana from spirit_int_regen during the simulation.

And obviously less time spent doing whatever else you need to do to gain mana = more dps. Still sounds off to me but there could be more we haven't considered too.

Gains:
6515.6 : blessing_of_wisdom
9323.1 : clearcasting
5470.9 : empowered_fire
10086.8 : evocation
21078.0 : initial_mana
4823.6 : judgement_of_wisdom
10138.5 : mana_gem
18946.0 : master_of_elements
597.2 : mp5_regen
12583.7 : replenishment
8763.9 : spirit_intellect_regen

It's a tool to help you plan your upgrade path, or more simply, to tell you how to work out which gear is best, or even more simply, what to gem.

For example, from yours, it's no surpise that spell power is your most valuable stat but it shows that Crit is pretty terrible for you at the moment. Spirit is more valuable even, and Haste is over twice as good.

The link to wowhead that is generated is just a shortcut so you don't have to type in the stat weights yourself. Wowhead can then compare different gear for you and gives it all a dps score so you can even work out which different slots to upgrade first.

i have no idea how to use that, i use the Warrior spredsheet created by Landsoul from <Vodka> which is on Elitest Jerks and its pretty useful (Wick hates it tho). For me my stat list changed on each gem/armor change and at the moment its ArP and then Crit.
I want to play a game.
