But it's a huge change in the wrong direction. I thought the stuff you were reading said to wait.

One odd thing I spot, on the after log, under dynamic buffs the following are listed:

abyssal_rune 6.2 0.0 51.3sec 51.3sec 20% 20%
arcane_blast 31.6 103.9 9.6sec 2.2sec 80% 85%
arcane_power 4.0 0.0 84.9sec 0.0sec 20% 19%
ashen_band_of_unmatched_destruction 4.0 0.0 79.7sec 79.7sec 13% 13%
bloodlust 1.0 0.0 0.0sec 0.0sec 13% 13%
clearcasting 16.5 0.0 17.2sec 17.2sec 10% 10%
icy_veins 2.8 0.0 145.1sec 0.0sec 16% 19%
lightweave_embroidery 5.0 0.0 64.5sec 64.5sec 25% 25%
missile_barrage 28.4 25.2 10.5sec 5.6sec 40% 93%
talisman_of_resurgence 3.0 0.0 121.1sec 121.1sec 20% 20%
tier10_2pc 27.0 0.4 10.8sec 10.6sec 45% 53%
tier10_4pc 2.0 0.0 181.3sec 181.3sec 20% 20%

But on the before log this is:

abyssal_rune 6.7 0.0 48.4sec 48.4sec 22% 22%
arcane_blast 45.6 67.4 6.6sec 2.7sec 68% 76%
arcane_power 4.0 0.0 85.0sec 0.0sec 20% 20%
bloodlust 1.0 0.0 0.0sec 0.0sec 13% 13%
clearcasting 15.8 0.0 17.9sec 17.9sec 10% 10%
icy_veins 3.0 0.0 145.0sec 0.0sec 17% 19%
lightweave_embroidery 5.0 0.0 62.6sec 62.6sec 25% 25%
missile_barrage 44.9 0.3 6.7sec 6.6sec 3% 99%
talisman_of_resurgence 3.0 0.0 120.9sec 120.9sec 20% 20%

What happened to the ashen ring and T10?

Just seen what's wrong. The base stats are totally differant in each log. Did you use Evils current gear in the after one and his old gear in the before one?

7341 is the old one before I updated anything. You need to refresh your page.

I worked out how to produce a log of the whole fight.

You can only run with 1 iteration (instead of 10000) when doing full logging so the end result isn't great but it shows the actions.

Of course if I knew my class properly I would know that arcane blast stacks up to 4 and not 3

Could you rerun please with 12 becoming

arcane_missiles,if=buff.missile_barrage.up&buff.arcane_blast.stack=4

Thanks Troy.

Hmm, very close now. One of the things that changes this is that an arcane mage should be aiming to finish the fight with zero mana and weaving in ABx5 sometimes to increase dps for more mana . The 5k or so mana left at the end of the fight is effectively lost dps.

No idea how you could model this though, but I suspect the differance is enough to arguably put the waiting model ahead as people suggest. It would vary massively on the fight length too as on a shorter fight you would have loads more mana to dump.
