Stay awhile and listen (official D3 thread)

For Oblivion. And some other stuff, I suppose.

First I want to try out the new build though. On this difficulty. It looks really cool and I should be in the vicinity of pulling it off.

Ok, so the impale build seems to work quite well. I am not doing the ridiculous amounts of dmg Troy is doing but all in all I think I present great ranged support.

Is it OK to solo some bounties and rifts? Or are we keeping these toons for MP only?

I have been soloing all sorts of stuff. It's not MP only, that was just for levelling, because there is no <name that I forget> system for levelling (that artificially makes the lower level stronger) in hardcore.

Here are some things we should do, in the short term, in my opinion.

Kill Zoltan Kulle on T2 for your next 2 set pieces. (I already used it on my alt.)
Get the Cube. (I already have it.)
Do just 1 set of all bounties, so we have enough mats to cube the really important build defining skills.
Do Act 1 bounties for RRoG. Maybe. I can probably skip this if you don't need it.
Once we have all the legendary gems we actually want to use, we should get multiple copies of Gem of Ease. This is so we can level up easier (in minutes) when we die. We will die.
Get multiple copies of the legendary gems that we actually use. This is optional - they could be re-farmed upon every death.
When we are 3, we might want to do some key warden farming.

All the while, getting stronger, and making sure to keep gear that would be useful for levelling. For example I found an Ancient 2H mace. It's useless to me, but it has STR, VIT, LoH and it's ancient. That's getting Gem of Eased into a levelling weapon. I found a Leoric's Ring (28% XP). So is that. I will keep a Leoric's Crown when I find one. Etc.

We might even want to set aside some time to actually level some backup characters. The issue with that, is character slots. I have none available, I think.

I will just mention that there is no point in levelling up gems of ease until we are strong enough to level them to 25.

There is, however, a point in getting all the gems before we start levelling them up.

Basically, to get an extra copy, you either have to have an alt, log the alt, take the gem from the stash, go back and do the GRift, and repeat. Or the easy way, is to just drop all your gems of ease on the ground in town.

You don't want to drop gems that have already been levelled on the ground, because a d/c will result in you losing them all.

Ok so I've read this in multiple places now, I'm almost certain I am not being trolled; You cannot die in a set dungeon, even in Hardcore. You just get placed back at the start.

I also read that the difficulty is around T6.

I guess I'll put those 2 things to the test later..

Small note: Do not use the legendary gem Moratorium. It's the one that spreads all your incoming damage over the next few seconds. Because you can "die", get placed at the start, then take some more damage and die for real.

That makes no sense at all. The flu should mean you are miles ahead..
