The Song of the Day post - 2013 edition

For Oblivion. And some other stuff, I suppose.

I'm back from my holiday, so it must be my turn.

Bleu - Singin' in Tongues - He's got a new album out, but it's not on Spotify yet. So this will do for now, taken from his last album. It's good.

Mr. Bungle - Pink Cigarette - From their last album. Probably my favourite band of all time ever, today. I might have added some of their stuff to the other playlists. That's not a bad thing.

That Bleu track is AMAZING, can't stop listening. I'll check some more of that out I think.

Have to agree with luk on this one, the bleu one is really good, the others were ok...but fiens were a bit too country for me.

Very true, if I am correct though. These recordings are from the 19th century or ealy 20th. It fits the theme of Bioshock Infinite

I added another song to the playlist. More people should do the same.

Jackdaw4 - Some Wonderland: Taken from their latest and last (they are disbanding, boooo) album. I really like the whole thing, but this was the stand-out track for me. Enjoy. Or don't. Just have a listen!

I can't add a song right now, but if I could I would add

Mantra - Dave Grohl - a collaboration of Mr Grohl with Trent Reznor for one of the best song I've listened to this year. I usually start this with repeat on and stop it only after listening to it 3-4 times in a row. Truly AWESOME stuff.

Good choice, Kel. I like quite a few tracks from that album.

I started digging a little deeper into the "Welcome Reality" album by Nero. (Doomsday is on it)
Dear me, this music helps me survive a boring day behind a computer instead of in the lab. I don't need coffee at all!
So I added a new song in this spotify list from the album. I think it was used in a advertisement campaign for HP or something. For good measure I added an oldie track from Daft Punk's
"Alive 2007" live album.

Enjoy :D

Nine Inch Nails' Hesitation Marks is out today.

I've been listening to it for a while now (it has been streaming here) and it's probably the best Nine Inch Nails album since The Fragile (not sure if it is better than that yet, but it could well be).

Album of the year by MILES for me, with Daft Punk's Random Access Memories following up from a distance (and that was an outstanding album too, you just can't reach the peaks of Trent Reznor's creativity IMHO).
