That Bloodborne thread

For Oblivion. And some other stuff, I suppose.

No way. They've always been AMAZING for me, too.

They offer some sort of compensation, don't they?

Spoiler below only pertains to combat mechanics. We were wondering about this in chat so I looked it up.
Spoiler!
Backstabs are still in the game. Sort of. You can only backstab with a strong attack and much like the interrupt with a gun, you then have to perform a normal attack within a time limit to actually get off the special, which does all the damage.

As is my way, after defeating a boss/clearing an area, I like to see how it was meant to be done so I watch ENB do it (he didn't reach the boss in episode one though). One very small tip I got, was on how to spot NPCs. I don't know if this applies to NPC characters in game where you might not want to attack them even though you can, like with previous games, but it definitely works for NPCs behind doors and windows.

Oh, yeah, need a new post for 2nd spoiler.

Spoiler!
There is always an incense burning lantern outside those doors/windows where an NPC will talk to you.
I actually missed 2 NPCs very near the start. Both of them actually talk to you properly as opposed to telling you that they don't like outsiders round here..

Has anyone worked out what the eye counter is/does yet? I may be mistaken but I thought from chat the other day that the opinion was that it is something to do with enemies who currently have your echoes. But I just don't think that's the case at all. Dying and then failing to retrieve my echoes doesn't appear to have any effect on that number. In fact I don't see the number ever go down.

Yeah, it's your Insight count. You need Insight for summoning, and there's a vendor that sells stuff for lots of Insight as well.

The amount of insight is the amount of people you can summon into the game using your beckoning bell. Joining someone else's game using the small resonating chime costs no insight. Something else happens as well when you want to summon someone
Spoiler!
Apparantly, using the bell also opens you up to being invaded...
OK... playing Bloodborne till 1am last night ruined my sleep. That and the wind rattling one of the windows.
I did however, succeed in clearing the third boss.

Are you guys going to play again tonight? Depending on your presence I might skip a night to catch some sleep.
(To be clear, if you guys are online I want to be there as well... not the other way around)
