Games of the generation!

#1 Post by Kelodur » Wed Nov 04, 2015 1:51 pm

Ok, so, next gen is underway, which means last gen is over. Time for some voting guys! Or in other words: what were the best console games of the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii gen (and the corresponding PC games released in the same gen).

Rules! Send me your top 3 games for each category, and send them in pm to me. And then I'll collate all the answers and come up with the final result. Things that were released in this gen along with their old gen versions are no-no, things that were remastered or just later converted to the current gen are ok.

Let's do it!

Categories:

Best FPS/TPS - Single player (it doesn't have to be single player only, but vote considering just its single player component)
Best FPS/TPS - Multiplayer (it doesn't have to be multiplayer only, but vote considering just its multiplayer component)
Best Action Adventure game
Best Platform game
Best RPG (action) - Single Player
Best RPG (tactical) - Single Player
Best Open World game
Best MMORPG
Best Sport game
Best Strategy game
Best Racing / Sim game
Best Indie game
Best 2D game
Best Expansion / DLC
Best Mobile game
Best Graphics
Best Sound FX
Best Soundtrack
Best Retro / stylish looking game
Best Acting
Best Story
Best Main Character
Best Support Character
Best Weapon or Tool
Best Level Design
Best Gameplay mechanics
Best Co-op game
Best Single moment in a game
Most overhyped game
Best game no one played
Best Game overall

Feel free to propose more categories and I'll incorporate them!

Notes:

You can vote for a game in several categories. The loose categories are there to avoid people having to discuss if a game if of this or this other subgenre and to help people vote for more games by putting one in one category and another one in another category.

If you haven't played enough games in a category and/or if you feel the game you played are not worthy of recognition, you can give only 1 or 2 games in a specific category, or even skip the category altogether.

Is there a deadline? Yeah, next week. Obviously this will be delayed as nobody is going to send me any list before I threaten them with a gun a couple of times. I remember how it was with the Renegade of the Year awards...

Waiting for all your votes to come! Kel out!

Am I the only one who hasn't sent his votes in yet?

I've got the top game for each category sorted, but not the other two.

No one has sent ANYTHING.

I was thinking about doing a megapost about my games of the generation and forget democracy.

That should be the fun part of it! :D

However, I quote myself:

"If you haven't played enough games in a category and/or if you feel the game you played are not worthy of recognition, you can give only 1 or 2 games in a specific category, or even skip the category altogether."

You're all just lazy. :ninja:

I am working on it! Made an excel file which has just about half of the data in it! Gimme a while longer, though.

Good stuff, Kelo.

Best Tool runner up FTW. :)

Now we just need to do it again with about 500 people voting.

And they all need to vote for Skate 2.
