Insert Tagline Here (the official Monster Hunter World thread)

For Oblivion. And some other stuff, I suppose.

Not me. Not really sure what they are even. If I had followed some "doodles" I found I would have ended up at these Grimalkynes? I think? In the forest I think that was..

Yeah, each area has a tribe of Grimalkynes you can find in expedition mode who give you a different palico equipment. The doodles are theirs, although I didn't manage to get a trail out of them in the forest, and I just kind of wandered into the Coral Highlands one. I can't remember what all the options are but the Rotten Vale one gives you extra drops

Something I didn't know.. If you do an Investigation that includes killing more than 1 monster, each monster has 75% HP.

Did not know that either. Good info.

High rank, apparently, unlocks when you are allowed to do 6 star quests. Don't know when that happens but that is the trigger. If I interpreted it correctly it is an option next to the "low rank" quests we are doing right now. And tempered is a higher difficulty monsters can have for higher grade drops.

It's all pretty complicated.

So I beat Legiana, Odogaron and Rathalos last night, and then wiped twice on Diablos. Guess I need to grind more. Stun resistance seems like it might work

What sort of defence values do you have? I was around 155 and got carted once by Diablos. Fien was around 170 and didn't get carted. Obviously it's not quite that simple.. I found it a bit easier after I cut his tail off.

I might also point out that Fien and I did Rathalos together and wiped once. So it's not like it was easy for us around here.

Also, you have almost caught us. I have only done Diablos plus the 2nd Zorah Magdathingy quest. Remember how I wasn't a fan of the first Zorah quest? Well this one, instead of shooting some cannons then destroying some things on his back, you have to
Spoiler!
destroy some things on his back then use some cannons. IT'S TOTALLY COMPLETELY THE OTHER WAY ROUND.

Though finishing the 2nd Zorah quest... Did that unlock 6 star quests? Is high rank within our grasp? I watched a Rurikhan vid on Sword and Shield and I want to try it! It looks like a lot of fun and the mobility is something I miss with my switch axe.
Maybe tonight will be another MHW night. Not sure because I feel like crap today and want to sleep... a lot.

Pretty sure I got a trophy. Pretty sure it wasn't for 6 star quests.

I did unlock extra upgrade levels for armour though.

In other news, I found some weird palico type things in the Wastes. And they kept attacking me so I killed them. As you do. Then a little later, I found the Grimalkynes. And they said something like - go get our buddies, but they won't come quietly so capture them.

So like, oops.

Yeah, I saw you were on that quest last night and looked to see how far ahead it was. I can't remember what my defence is; I only fainted once on Rathalos, but I did survive at ~1% HP a few times

It probably doesn't help that Diablos is really hard to get the white buff on, for some reason, so my movement speed is reduced

Evidenced by the fact that I went 1-3 vs Diablos last night.

That's despite having about 200 defence now and 5% more damage.

It's a little weird that my victory was just so easy, maybe 3 potions used, while 2 of my defeats were so bad that he didn't even run away once before I was totally dead. Although some of that is caused by the fact that I find him a lot easier while inside those large caves as opposed to outside in those little ravines with multiple levels of ground.
