Oblivion - Topic Of The Year Edition

For Oblivion. And some other stuff, I suppose.

Still looking forward to SOLO obv.
No! We should all be pretending Solo isn't happening, and maybe, just maybe, it'll turn out ok and we'll all be pleasantly surprised. It's the worst idea EVER.

I think I need to see TLJ again. I didn't dislike anywhere near as much as you lot.

And Rogue One was great.

Happy New Year everyone!

I definitely agree that Kat agrees with me.

Pretty sure I rated Rogue One as not terrible, but worse than episode 3.

Edit: I didn't dislike it Rev. I gave it a solid 7. I even said the last 3rd of it was "Spectacular".

Well, in fairness i've read absolutely nothing about it (like I read nothing about TLJ until... last night, after I came out the cinema). I like "going in cold" these days. Therefore, all I know is it's a film about Solo! But as Harrison Ford is really old, they'll have to get some young guy in. SO, it will all come down to whether or not the new young man is the best actor of his generation or not. I hope he is. Then the film will be rad. I did read the name of the guy they've got (the only thing I know so far!) and I've no idea who he is - maybe that's because he's a MASSIVE UNDISCOVERED TALENT?
"Diversity"? Why yes, I believe it's an old, old wooden ship from the civil war era

I don't think there is anything out there for us to read about.

Other than that the original director was fired and Ron Howard has re-shot most of it.

Ron Howard is surely the most overrated director of our times.

I just checked and found out a second fact - THANDIE NEWTON is in it. She was in the most recent series of LINE OF DUTY! Which was amaze. And is on iPlayer. Also EMILIA CLARKE is in it. Okay that's enough information about that film. Time to go into hibernation until December.

He's definitely made some poor choices recently (apart from Rush), but his 80s and 90s stuff was mostly excellent.

He has 1 good film per decade. Cocoon, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind. Even those are nothing special.

Frost/Nixon I've never seen but might be ok.

Assuming you've never seen Backdraft, or even Willow, then yeah. I even liked EdTV and Splash at the time.

Seen them. Certainly not memorable though.

Maybe I'm biased thanks to the God awful Heart of the Sea, and the Dan Brown films which should have been so easy to do well and were terrible. And there's the Dark Tower.

How do you get that sort of source material so wrong?

Well, yeah. He's made a right hash of that lot.

January's PS+ games are up. Nice bonus game for VR owners, too. Probably the best month in ages.
