Oblivion - Topic Of The Year Edition

For Oblivion. And some other stuff, I suppose.

We watched Bird Box last night.

It didn't sneak onto the list. Although it wasn't too far away either.

It's like someone said, let's remake [spoilerr] but with good acting and some attempt at some proper suspense. And they did that somewhat. But at the end of the day, it's still[spoilerr].

Sure, it's from a book that has nothing to do with [Spoilerr], but it's still just [Spoilerr] all the way through.

But yeah, it's a solid watchable 6 for me.

I’m miles behind on my Netflix films, but that’s definitely on the list. Even from the trailer you can see it’s very similar to Spoiler.

I dunno, I thought the trailer made it look like a quiet place. And the wilderness stuff, which is most of the trailer, there isn't much of that at all.

Anyway, you still need to watch It Comes At Night.

I was going to finally see The Babadook. It was on Mark Kermode's top 10 films of the last decade list. But I got sidetracked with Daredevil.

You Were Never Really Here.

Should probably be on the best films of the year list. If it was a best film of the year list. But it's really a favourite film of the year list. So, as you were.

Other films I haven't seen include Searching and Suspiria. Which have appeared on some other best film lists I've seen. Also First Man, but that's not going to make my list even after I've seen it.

Netflix in January according IMDB (doesn't say which continent though):

"As 2018 draws to a close, let's look ahead. Here's what's headed to Netflix in January, from all the Indiana Jones movies to Solo: A Star Wars Story and Ant-Man and the Wasp. "

Looking forward to the last 2 movies (I havent't seen Solo yet)....

Solo didn't make my list of films of the year, despite having lots of mediocre films on it.

I did consider Ant Man and the Wasp, I didn't forget it. It's kind of the same level. Maybe it should be there instead of Hotel Artemis. Or in terms of entertainment, it certainly beats A Quiet Place. But A Quiet Place is very well made. Maybe it's the best of all, technically.

What did you think of Bandersnatch? It's on my list (my list is really long).

So, The Predator.

It was not as terrible as I'd heard. It's even sort of watchable. But it does have a long list of things to not like.

I can't really talk about that very long list without spoilers..

But I will say, that the vulgar language was a real turn off. I get it, soldiers like that will talk like that. But did they really need the Tourettes guy as well?

Also, one of the main characters, just vanishes from the film. I presume he got a death scene that they decided not to use.

I maybe give it a 4.

Finished Daredevil, finally. No idea why it took me so long, it was really good. Such a shame that we won't get any more.

Punisher s2 out on Jan 18th.

Which means we get a whole week to finish that before Kingdom.

i've mixed thoughts about it.

while i find it a nice try/idea about viewer-show interaction i got bored at my second try (choices to make weren't satisfactory enough to keep me sat in front of the tv.

i've read there are multiple endings but for now i didn't feel like to look for any further.

The plot was interesting, consistent and claustrophobic as other BM episodes, but i would loved it as a self-fast-backwards-slidingdoors-like-choice-movie...(is what i wrote understandable?)

edit:
i'm going to really miss DD...

what's Kingdom?
